LINCOLN- Three players entered the transfer portal in total from Nebraska basketball rosters yesterday, as both teams had their respective seasons come to an end over the past weekend in the NCAA Tournament.

The Husker Men lost Eli Rice and Ramel Lloyd Jr. to the portal Monday, as Rice showed promise his freshman season hitting three point shots off the bench against Kansas State and Michigan State. Rice suffered a high-ankle sprain in January that kept him off the floor the remainder of the year.

Rice finished the year averaging 4.2 points and 1.6 assists with a 41.3 percent shooting percentage.

Lloyd Jr. also entered the portal after two seasons with the Big Red but not appearing in any contests. Lloyd averaged 5.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, ranking second in rebounding and third in both assists and steals while posting a team-best 4-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio during a pre-season Spain exhibition.

Finally for the Women’s squad, forward Annika Stewart will enter the transfer portal after four seasons with the Huskers.

The 6-foot-3 junior came to Nebraska in 2020, and played all 26 games as a true freshman. She appeared in 27 games in 2021-22 and played in all 33 games in 2022-23 totaling 111 contests over four years.

This past season, Stewart came on strong down the stretch. She scored 12 points over three games at the Big Ten Tournament, and made two 3-pointers in the Huskers’ season-ending loss to Oregon State on Sunday.
