Hastings Police release U Drive. U Text. U Pay. campaign results

The Hastings Police Department participated in the U Drive. U Text. U Pay. campaign that recently ended.  Officers worked 136.5 total hours resulting in 169 total contacts.

The results of the campaign included 17 speeding citations, seven no valid registrations, six no operator license, five no valid insurance, three driving under suspension, three seatbelt, two stop sign violations, two stop light violations, one use of a handheld wireless device, one littering, one possession of marijuana, one minor in possession of tobacco products, two driving under revocation arrests, four driving under suspension arrests.

There were 45 total citations with 56 citation offenses.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) granted the Hastings Police Department overtime funding for this national campaign.

This grant allowed officer to work overtime, focusing specifically on traffic safety.
