Ford Clark Recognized for Service for KHS Athletics

KEARNEY – An instrumental piece to Kearney High Athletic gamedays was recognized for his talents and tenure during Monday night’s double-header of postseason soccer at Kearney High School.

Ford Clark, a lecturer of Sports Communication at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, was recognized by Kearney High School for his dedication and service in hosting championship level events for the past six years as the “Voice of the Bearcats”.

Clark has assisted his voice and talents for volleyball, football, wrestling, basketball, track and field, and girls and boys soccer. He has also assisted in KGFW’s broadcasts of Kearney High Football, girls basketball, and soccer since 2021 and is an award-winning broadcaster from the Nebraska Broadcaster’s Association.

Additionally with his role with KHS Athletics, Clark expanded upon the KLPR Student Radio program on the UNK campus as the general manager of the student-led radio station. Since his arrival in 2015, Clark’s students have won numerous regional, statewide, and national honors while also developing their talent and producing future broadcasters for work across the state of Nebraska.

Clark’s students from UNK have went on to find careers in multiple paths through broadcast media including NRG Media, NTV (Sinclair), Nebraska Rural Radio Association (KRVN), 1011 KLKN, and more.

Ford recently announced his intention to move to Sioux City, IA to lead the Sports Information field at Briar Cliff University as part of their Media Communications department.
