Three juveniles cited for assault after man’s jaw broken in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND — Three juveniles were cited for assault after an incident where a man’s jaw was broken and another required stitches in Grand Island on Saturday, March 29.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, officers conducted a motorist assist near 12th and Eddy St. where they were advised by a female driver that a male passenger needed medical attention due to his jaw being broken.

Officers were advised that a 20-year-old male was assaulted on N. Wheeler St. by a 16-year-old male and received scratches and a black eye. The male was also punched by a 15-year-old while he was fighting the 16-year-old.

The 15-year-old punched the victim in the jaw, causing the break.

While this fighting was taking place, a 17-year-old male also fought the 20-year-old man’s friend, which caused him to have a laceration above his eye that required stitches.

The 15-year-old juvenile was booked into a juvenile detention center for first degree assault. The 16-year-old was cited for third degree assault and obstructing a police officer. The 17-year-old was cited for third degree assault.
