KEARNEY – Things went from bad to worse for Kearney Baseball on Monday, falling 17-2 to Millard North at Memorial Field in a five-inning contest. Click here to listen to the broadcast replay.

The Bearcats (10-10) have dropped their last three games, and failed to muster a run until the fourth inning in which Millard North had already taken a 17-0 advantage. The Mustangs (5-11) won with seventeen runs on twelve hits, committing only one error, while Kearney fell, scoring two runs on four hits with four errors.

The opening inning had the makings of a strong contest, as Millard North mustered their first hit but Kearney knocked down the first three batters with a Kole Throckmorton throw from the plate to tag-out a stolen base. However, the Mustangs took hold of communication mistakes by Kearney in the second inning, scoring four runs including one off an error.
