KEARNEY — The Nebraska Music Education Association (NMEA) announced today that Kearney High School is the recipient of this year’s Exemplary Program Award. Following a rigorous review and site visitation process, the NMEA Board of Directors unanimously approved the award at its April meeting.

The Exemplary Program Award recognizes exceptional music education programs that demonstrate outstanding achievements in providing music education to students. Kearney High School was selected for its commitment to excellence and its success in creating a nurturing environment where students not only excel musically but also feel safe, valued, and respected.

“We are extremely excited to receive the Exemplary Program Award,” said Jeff Ganz, KHS Principal. “We have a vibrant music department committed to fostering the musical and personal growth of each of our students. Our music department staff is simply the best.”

Kearney High School’s music department will be formally recognized at an upcoming NMEA conference, where they will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents. “We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for achieving this prestigious recognition,” said Ganz. “This award is a testament to their passion, dedication, and the supportive atmosphere that defines our music program.”
